In 2013 the founder of Poweralife, Jeremie headed off grid to
live with subsistence farmers for a month in northern Senegal
to gain a deep understanding of these communities and
work together to create impactful development projects.

What quickly became apparent was the need for electricity,
particularly for children to help them complete their
homework at night.
Every powerbank sold now will mean a donation of a solar
powered light child in rural Africa, helping them study in the
dark and improving their performance in education.

In the experiment, just by children being able to do their
homework at night, there were improvements in every class
and grade tested. In Grade 5 maths scores went from a
19% class average to a 56% average in 2 months.
